2009 Southern Zone Age Group Chanpionships

Taylor Rodenhuis represented North Carolina at the 2009 Southern Zone Age Group Championships in Orlando, FL
during the week of July 27, 2009. Taylor placed 8th in the 100 Free, 11th in the 200 Free, 7th in the 400 Free, 9th in
both the 50 and 100 Fly events and 16th in the 200 IM. North Carolina finished third overall at the meet.

2009 Long Course YMCA Nationals

RAC was well represented at YNats this past July. Twelve swimmers, including 4 graduating seniors Garrison
Stevens, Will Stokes, Tanner Lowman, and  Alex Ramdin, along with Madi Ralston, Andrew McCollister, Vicky Miller,
Carley Drye, Jackie Ramdin, Garrett Spake, Job Spake and Katie Cater made the trip to Maryland. All performed well,
and Tanner finished 2nd in the 100 Breaststroke and 4th in the 200 Breaststroke events.

Congratulations to the RAC graduating class of 2009 - Alex Ramdin,Garrison Stevens, Caroline Smith, Will Stokes
and Tanner Lowman. Thank you all for your leadership, sportsmanship and contributions to the team throughout the
years. Both Caroline and Tanner will be swimming at Florida State, Garrison at Clemson, Will at Wingate and Alex will
be swimming at American University. Best wishes and good luck.

RAC Swimmer Number 1 in USAT Ranking

Congratulations go out to Michael Mebel. Michael is currently the number 1 ranked 11-14 year old tri-athlete in the
Mid-Atlantic Region by USA Triathlon. The Mid-Atlantic region includes the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland,
New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Complete rankings can be found

Pier-to-Pier Open Water Meet

City Honors Ralston

On March 2, 2010, the Salisbury City Council recognized Madi Ralston of Salisbury High for winning the 100 yard
Butterfly in the NC 1A/2A Swimming Championship. Madi was awarded a day in her name and from now on, March
2nd will be “Madi Ralston Day” in the city of Salisbury.

Ralston High School State Champion

Madi Ralston, representing Salisbury High School, won the State Title in the 100 butterfly at the 1A/2A High School
State Swimming Championships with a National Junior B time of 59.46. Madi also placed fifth in the 100 free. (See
Salisbury Post article on Ralston's win).

Congratulations to all swimmers who participated in High School State and Regional swim competitions over the
past several weeks.
